Reverting Actions

Many actions can be reversed directly from the Audit Trail.

Reversible Actions
  • Merge operations (recreates the deleted record)
  • Dismiss operations (marks the match as pending again)
  • Configuration changes (restores previous settings)
  • Acknowledge operations (unmarks cross-object matches)
Not Reversible
  • Lead Convert (use Salesforce's unconvert feature instead)
  • Actions older than retention period (snapshot data no longer available)

Tip: For merges, use Unmerge

While you can revert merges from the Audit Trail, the Merge History page offers more control. Unmerge includes field-by-field reversion preview and re-reparents related records.

Retention Period

Audit log entries are retained based on your plan and configuration.

Default Retention

90 days for all plans. Entries older than this are automatically deleted.

Enterprise Extended Retention

Enterprise plans can configure custom retention periods up to unlimited for compliance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see who merged a specific record?

Yes! Use the search feature to find the record by name or ID. The audit entry will show who performed the merge, when, and all field changes.

How long are audit logs kept?

By default, 90 days. Enterprise plans can configure longer retention periods for compliance. After the retention period, entries are automatically deleted.

Can I export the audit log?

Yes, you can export to CSV or JSON format. The export includes all visible columns and respects your current filters.

Are failed operations logged?

Yes, failed operations are logged with the error details. This helps with troubleshooting and understanding why an action didn't complete.
